Digital Printing

Digital printing itself is not an innovation anymore. It is in use in many different industries like printing & packaging since quite some time. The use of Digital Printing Technology in the flooring industry however is an innovation. Since very recently this idea is getting more and more attractive to various laminate manufacturers.

The difference compared to the common Direct Printing Technology is the application of a digital printing unit, printing the desired image directly on to the (pre-finished) wooden substrate. The colorless performance coating which protects the image and is usually represented by UV curable systems is almost 100% congruent with both technologies.

The crucial difference to direct printing is the fact of a non-contact process. However the key benefit is the flexibility of this system. Even smaller production volumes can now be economically manufactured. You can practically go down to lot size one! Digital printing is the first technology enabling you to customize a work piece very lately within the production process – with almost unlimited opportunities. You are now allowed to change the decorative pattern online, without interrupting your production, without wasting any set-up time at all!
