Primer

The material of PVC is almost non-polar thus it is almost impossible to establish any kind of chemical bonding for subsequent coating systems. To establish adhesion between the covalent substrate and the subsequent coating layer, the surface of the base material is usually treated with the so called “Corona-Treatment” or flame inpingement to generate polar groups. UV Primers have the purpose to provide a good adhesive join to the substrate (PVC) in case there is no pre-treatment available.
