Stains

Primer stains are a combination between hydro colour stains and hydro UV primers. Hence, the stain and primer are applied in a single step. Klumpp Coatings primer stains feature an even stain finish and exceptional adhesion to the wood substrate. It can be applied with a sponge rubber or hard rubber roller.

Hydro coloured stains for rollers are water-based pigment stains which produce a semi-transparent finish. They are especially good at evening out veneer and wood irregularities with especially good poor wetting performance.  Hydro colour stains can be applied to ash, oak, spruce, acorn, beech and birch.

Solvent stains for roller applications produce a rustic stain finish. It can be applied with a sponge rubber or hard rubber roller. After drying, a hydro UV primer is applied. Substrate adhesion is only limited with very dark hues having a high pigment/-colourant content. In such cases we recommend the use of primer stains.

UV stains for roller applications combine the multiple positive attributes of separate products in one. They can be cured during after application. They can be processed very effectively in small coating plants as they do not require pre-drying using jet-or IR drying techniques. UV stains offer only limited colour configurations and must be cured as appropriate.
